/ Stage Two: Getting the job

Young professionals choice of top 100 preferred employers

1. Introduction

Online career network Monster and research company Universum today launch the results of their joint Young Professional Survey:

"The Young Professional survey shows that international opportunities are most important to achieve employee retention, however opportunities for professional training and personal development are even more important", says Johan Carlsson, Universum’s European Area Manager.

Carlsson continued, "The survey results help companies feel the pulse of the up and coming professionals and allows them important insight on how to attract, recruit and retain European young professionals."

According to Monster.co.uk Managing Director, Joe Slavin: "With over 4.5 million candidates across Europe, we’ve been able to secure a solid source of young professionals for the survey. It also provides an ideal vantage point from where to observe trends in today’s complex and dynamic job markets’.

2. Most common reasons for changing employers:

After BA, the second and third the most favored employers were Virgin and the BBC.

Female respondents showed a higher propensity tendency towards more challenging tasks -- while striving to achieve a sense of balance between both their personal life and their career. However, male respondents placed a higher priority in earning more money.
